As you’ll know from my previous post we were lucky enough to be sent a range of Children’s gardening tools and accessories along with some seeds from the My Seedlets range by The Handpicked Collection recently.
We decided that as the weather was so good at the weekend that we would crack on with planting our remaining veggie seeds.
First off – Pumpkins! How great will it be to have our own Pumpkin to play out Cinderella with? So I found a pot and let Monkey loose with the compost ….
I followed the instructions on the back of the seed packet to make our own little propagator – we used drinking straws instead of skewers and a carrier bag instead of a freezer bag. I’m sure the pumpkins won’t mind 🙂

Next up was a trip to the local garden centre to purchase a grow bag for the lettuce and rocket and eventually for the tomatoes and peppers we had already planted.

Next we needed Daddy to get the Garden Fork out and turn some soil over for us so we could plant some carrot and parsnip seeds. I think Monkey is most excited about the carrots as these are his all time favourite vegetables – raw or cooked 🙂

Once everything was planted Monkey went around with his watering can giving all the seeds a good drink, and also to check if anything had started to sprout! This is going to be a good lesson in patience over the coming weeks.
I’ll keep you posted on how we progress ……
